IMMUNOCHEMICAL ASPECTS OF PENICILLIN CHEMISTRY

Formation and stability of the penicilloyl-antigcnic determinant are discusscd and the problem of elicitors in penicillin allergy is briefly considered. It appears that chcmically defined compounds and conjugates are required to arrive at definite conclusions. Data on the induction of delayed-type skin hypersensitivity by penicilloyl and other haptenic polysaccharide conjugates in guinea pigs and some observations on their eliciting capacities are presented. © 1969 S.
