DEGRADATION OF RETICULINE IN BERBERIS SUSPENSION-CULTURES

摘要
Incubation of B. stolonifera cell suspension cultures with 13C-labelled reticulines were analysed by 13C NMR of whole cells in vivo. The cellular 13C-enriched protoberberine alkaloids were observed and biodegradation of reticuline to the simple isoquinoline alkaloid pycnarrhine was detected. The scope and mechanism of the degradation was explored using labelled benzylisoquinolines and cell suspension cultures of other plant species. © 1990.
