Electron transfer across the interface of two immiscible electrolyte solutions was reported earlier for tris(bipyridine)ruthenium(II) cation and several distinct quenchers, oxygen included. The reductive quenching of tris(bipyrazine)ruthenium(II) cation by ferrocene and N,N'-diphenyl-1,4-phenylenediamine due to interfacial electron transfer is reported in this paper. The absence of oxygen quenching reactions by electron transfer enables more precise determination of the rate constant from impedance measurements. From digital simulation, an image of the process mechanism and localization of the reaction is developed.
