摘要
Photothermal beam deflection with a tunable. pulsed, infrared laser is a highly sensitive technique for obtaining vibrational spectra of molecules at interfaces. Spectra were obtained from monolayers of octadecyltrichlorosilane on both rough and polished silicon. in contact with air, tetrachloromethane and perfluorodecalin. The variation in the deflection of the probe beam with time and with distance from the surface is explained on the basis of a simple one-dimensional model of heat transfer at the interface.
