摘要
Collections were made of rodent tissues, ectoparasites and human sera from widely scattered areas of north, north-east and central Thailand, in a search for murine typhus. Rickettsia mooseri was recovered from Rattus exulans, R. rattus and 2 human cases of fever of unknown origin. No recoveries were made from 297 R. norvegicus, 38 Suncus murinus or 26 Bandicota indica. Antibody prevalence in human residents of trapping areas ranged from 0 to 20%. The findings suggest that murine typhus may be of more importance in Thailand than generally assumed. Further studies are under way. © 1969 Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
