摘要
The surface dilational viscosity ηsd relates the surface tension under dynamical conditions σdyn to the relative surface expansion rate d ln A dt. The value of ηsd can be determined by means of the overflowing cylinder technique. The dynamic surface tension is determined by the Wilhelmy plate technique. The key problem is to find the relation between the surface expansion rate and the flow field developed in the cylinder for a particular surface active liquid. In this paper calculated surface velocity distributions and surface expansion rates are compared to experimental results for a pure liquid. Moreover some experimental results show the large influence of the addition of surfactants on the surface expansion rate. © 1990.
