摘要
The Galapagos iguana has evolved a cooling and heating system which involves temperature sensitive cutaneous blood vessels. Local cutaneous vascular responses to temperature variations explain differences in heating and cooling rates as well as thermal stability in the face of extreme thermal loads in the environment. © 1969 Nature Publishing Group.
