PROPAGATION OF EXCITATION IN NEURAL-NETWORK MODELS

摘要
We study the propagation of waves of excitation in neural network models. Through analytic calculation and computer simulation, we determine how the propagation velocity depends on the range and strength of synaptic interactions, the firing threshold and on transmission delays. For the models considered, the propagation velocity depends on either the first or the second moment of the distribution function characterizing the length of synaptic interactions.
