MAGNON-PHONON INTERACTION AND DETERMINATION OF EXCHANGE CONSTANTS IN CSMNF3

摘要
Magnetoelastic waves in the flopped antiferromagnet CsMnF3 are observed by the parallel-pumping technique. From the magnetic field positions of the shear-wave and longitudinal-wave interactions and from the measured sound velocities the following values are deduced for the nearest-neighbor antiferromagnetic exchange constants in CsMnF3: J1=3.5 cm-1 and J2=3.2 cm-1. A reinterpretation of the magnon-sideband data observed by Saito in CsMnF3 is possible using the above exchange constants. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
