Magnetization, magnetic anisotropy and ferrimagnetic resonance linewidth measurements have been made on a series of NiZn-ferrite films synthesized using a low temperature (T < 100 degrees C) ferrite plating technique developed by one of the authors. Films made by this technique are of considerable interest because of their potential use in the fabrication of non-reciprocal components for high frequency device applications. Our results show the films are textured and have a large magnetic anisotropy perpendicular to the plane of the film and a much smaller in-plane anisotropy. The magnetization, magnetic anisotropy and resonance linewidth scaled with ferrous ion concentration. The magnetic anisotropy is explained in terms of a single ion anisotropy directed along a [111] texture.
