摘要
A comparison of the fine structure of the absorption spectrum of fluoranthene and seven of its simple derivatives recorded at 77°K reveals the presence of seven separate electronic transitions below 43 000 cm-1. Evidence for the existence of three additional transitions in the 43 000-50 000 cm-1 region is also presented. Gas phase electron affinity is reported. The results are in good agreement with semiempirical π-electron calculations. © 1969.
