摘要
An algorithmic method for feature shape extraction from solid geometric models is presented. The method is based on a boundary representation graph and categorizes sets of faces, based on the topology and geometry of the set, into well defined, nonintersecting, machining cavity feature classes. Shapes within a class can vary in topology and geometry but share many machining-oriented characteristics. Fast linear time recognition algorithms are also presented. The paper concludes with a discussion of a prototype feature recognition implementation.
