摘要
5 male and 7 female chimpanzees were reared in isolation for the 1st 3 yr. of life. During and after puberty these chimpanzees were observed in pair and group social situations, sometimes with each other and sometimes with wild-born animals. In contrast to the isolation-reared rhesus monkey, most of these chimpanzees learned to copulate with sophisticated partners. When the performance of these chimpanzees is compared with that of a group of human-reared chimpanzees, it appears that the substitution of human interaction during infancy is more detrimental to sexual development than is the absence of any interaction.
