摘要
The orientation of crystallites in the membranes of the bacterial cellulose-brightener complex, regenerated Cell I obtained from the complex by dye-extraction, and bacterial cellulose was examined through X-ray measurements. In the X-ray diffraction profile of the complex membrane by the reflection method, only a strong diffraction pattern from the (110BAR) plane was observed. In contrast, in the X-ray diffraction profile by the transmitting method a strong diffraction pattern at near 2-theta = 22.1-degrees was observed. The (110BAR) plane and the plane observed at near 2-theta = 22.1-degrees are at right angles to each other. The (110BAR) plane of the complex is parallel to the surface of the membrane as the planes of the bacterial cellulose and regenerated Cell I. It is suggested that the diffraction pattern at near 2-theta = 22.1-degrees is due to the (110) plane.
