摘要
The effect of change of geometry on the rigid-plastic limit load of a long closed-ended cylinder subjected to internal pressure and a circumferential line load is considered using the one-moment limited interaction surface. The solution follows the change of geometry by a step-by-step procedure. In the deformation from the rigid-plastic three-hinge circle mechanism, the outer pair of hinge circles travels outwards along the cylinder. An appendix presents a simple calculation for the rate of change of load with change of geometry at zero change of geometry. © 1968.
