摘要
The relationships among germination, emergence and early seedling growth under low (20/14-degrees-C or 17/12-degrees-C) and high (27/22-degrees-C) temperatures were examined in 16 melon accessions differing in their ability to germinate at 14-degrees-C (cold-tolerant and cold-sensitive accessions). Emergence was postponed and dry matter accumulation was decreased by low temperature to the same extent in tolerant and sensitive accessions. The results suggest that low temperature germination was not correlated with faster emergence or dry matter accumulation under low temperature. Moreover, no relationships were found between emergence rate and early vegetative growth rate.
