Due to the exchange interaction between conduction electrons and magnetic moments localised on Mn ions the band structure of Hg1-MnxTe in quantizing magnetic fields is very sensitive to temperature. This temperature dependence leads to a new phenomenon - the oscillations of an electrical resistivity measured as a function of temperature at constant magnetic field. Peaks of the resistivity correspond to a coincidence of the Fermi level with bottoms of magnetic subbands forced by changing the temperature - a phenomenon analogous to the Shubnikov-de Haas effect with the temperature playing a role of magnetic field in a standard experiment. The effect was observed for resistivity measured both in transverse and longitudinal configuration with respect to the external magnetic field. © 1979.
