GEOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF SOME SLIP-LINE FIELDS FOR COMPRESSION AND EXTRUSION

摘要
Pimple relations between various lengths occurring in some slip-line field solutions are rigorously established. The problems are compression of rigid/plastic material between smooth dies and extrusion through smooth square dies with medium reduction. The operational method of analysing slip-line fields developed by Collins (1968) is applied to the extrusion problem. In addition a new technique is introduced involving ' artificial deformation modes'. This is used to establish the remaining formulae previously suggested for these two problems. © 1968.
