COSMIC-RAY-PRODUCED RADIOACTIVITY IN LABORATORY CHEMICALS

摘要
127Te and 32P activities were radiochemically isolated from several kg quantities of potassium iodide, and hydrochloric and sulphuric acids, respectively, exposed to cosmic rays on the roof of the Chemistry Building of the University of Arkansas. The observed specific activities, in terms of disintegration (× 10-5)/sec are 127Te: 1·1/g of iodine, 32P: 3·8/g of sulphur, and 2·0/g of chlorine. The measured values are in reasonable agreement with the calculated values and previous measurements. © 1968.
