PARTIAL PURIFICATION OF MITOCHONDRIAL AND SUPERNATANT DNA POLYMERASE FROM SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE

摘要
Yeast mitochondria incorporate [3H]TMP into DNA that has a buoyant density of mitochondrial DNA. The reaction does not require additional DNA and is not inhibited by deoxyribonuclease. DNA polymerase has been solubilized and purified about 50 fold from mitochondria and about 150 fold from the supernatant fraction of the cell. Enzymatic properties of the two enzyme preparations are similar. Density gradient centrifugation indicates that the supernatant and mitochondrial enzymes have a different molecular size. © 1969.
