New measurements are presented for the viscosity of liquid toluene at temperatures from 25 to 150-degrees-C and at pressures up to 30 MPa. The measurements were obtained with an oscillating-disk viscometer and have an estimated accuracy of +/-0.5%. A comparison with data reported by other researchers is included, and an equation for the viscosity of liquid toluene as a function of temperature and density is given. Toluene was chosen because of its usefulness as a primary reference standard substance for thermal conductivity of liquids and its potential use as a similar standard for viscosity.
