摘要
This article presents a review of the published theoretical and empirical literature on sexuality in organizations, with the objective of evaluating whether sexuality should or can be eradicated from the workplace as an effective antidote to sexual harassment. A variety of perspectives, such as the bureaucratic model, radical feminist and anthropological accounts, sociodemographic trends, and contemporary organizational research, generate contrasting arguments. In evaluating these arguments, the author proposes that rather than eradicate sexuality from the workplace, organizational scholars need to explore alternative, positive forms of relationship between men and women at work, with sexuality as a likely component. To achieve this aim, future research will need to focus on defining appropriate sexuality at work and on setting fair standards for identifying situations of conflict of interest between interpersonal and organizational aims. © 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
