摘要
Anonymous questionnaires were sent to all 364 members of the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology to assess their attitudes about disclosing donor insemination to children conceived by this reproductive option. Of the 174 physicians who returned completed questionnaires, 56% believed that offspring need not bc told about their conception by artificial insemination by donor (AID), 22% supported the belief that children should be told about AlD, and 21% endorsed a neutral position. Despite their differences, the well-being of the child was often emphasized by the respondents as an important reason in deciding whether to tell or not to tell. The results of this study indicate that empirical research of families that utilize assisted insemination by donor would be timely, and welcomed by practitioners to provide meaningful information upon which recommendations about disclosure can be based.
