CONFIRMATION OF HYDROGEN-INDUCED UNOCCUPIED STATES IN PDH - MULTIPLE-SCATTERING ANALYSIS OF PALLADIUM-L1 AND PALLADIUM-L3 XANES

摘要
For the first time multiple-scattering analysis of PdL1 and L3 XANES in metallic Pd and PdH has been performed. The good agreement with experimental results show that all features in PdL1 and L3 XANES in both metallic Pd and PdH have a multiple-scattering nature. Our results confirm the evidence of hydrogen-induced unoccupied antibonding states in PdH that was recently proposed on the basis of experimental PdL3 XANES investigations.
