摘要
Infrared spectra are reported for barbituric acid, and its fully deuterated counterpart, in argon and nitrogen matrices at different concentrations. Infrared and far infrared spectra of the solid phase of barbituric acid, and infrared and Raman spectra of matrix-isolated and solid 1,3-dimethyl barbituric acid were also obtained. The data enabled a vibrational assignment of the barbituric acid spectrum to be made for both the monomeric form and the solid. The changes in the spectra from monomer, through dimer, to the solid suggest that the compound forms a dimer with a cyclic structure. © 1979.
