Part 2 of this article reviews the results of recent investigations into the present-day formation of diagenetic pyrite in the H. Y. C. deposit at McArthur River, applies the results to ancient, pyrite-rich sedimentary rocks, and uses the results to test quantitatively the models proposed for the formation of the concordant deposits at McArthur River. The sulfide-S and organic-C relationships of these deposits place severe constraints on the processes by which the deposits formed.
