摘要
Fuel injection systems for internal combustion engines require good atomization because of its influence on mixture preparation and combustion. The method of electrostatic atomization has some basic advantages with respect to the quality of atomization (small sizes of droplets, narrow droplet size distribution, self-dispersal of the spray) and offers the possibility to control the droplet movement by external electric fields. In our work, we investigated the potentialities and the limits of the new method as well as its applicability to fuel atomization in internal combustion engines.
