摘要
The technique of trace analysis of rare earths by cathode-ray-excited emission spectroscopy has been applied to the determination of terbium in an yttrium oxide matrix. With the 544-nm emission from terbium as the detection wavelength, and with high-resolution spectrometry, a detection limit of about 2 p.p.b. can be attained. The effect of sample firing temperature during diffusion and crystallization is treated in detail. Effects of other rare earth and first transition group interferences are discussed. © 1969.
