摘要
Protein synthesis of the osteoblast has been studied in cortical jaw bone of new-born cats, by electron microscopic autoradiography, after an intravenous injection of tritiated proline. A clear labeling of the endoplasmic reticulum has been observed 5 minutes after the intravenous injection, whereas the Golgi apparatus presented the highest radioacivity after one hour. The change of a lining osteoblast in an osteocyte, contained in a lacuna, is under direct cellular control, which could be visualized through a polarized secretion of tritiated proline. The protein secretion cycle of the osteoblast is faster than that of the osteocyte. © 1969 Springer-Verlag.
