OH ABSORPTION IN CLAP GLASS SYSTEMS

摘要
Molar extinction coefficients of OH in four CdF2-LiF-AlF3-PbF2 glass compositions are estimated. The values are determined by the change in OH absorption at 2.9-mu-m and the measured amounts of evolved HF, which correspond to the concentrations of OH. The experimentally obtained values are approximately 11 1/mol cm for the four compositions. This value is consistent with the correlation reported between glass matrix properties and the intensities of molar extinction coefficients of OH in fluoride glasses.
