EFFECT OF PRESSURE ON THE FLUORESCENCE OF TICT STATES IN (N,N-DIMETHYLAMINO)BENZONITRILE AND ITS RELATED-COMPOUNDS

摘要
The shifts of fluorescence spectra with pressure and temperature were measured for 4-(N,N-dimethylamino)benzonitrile (DMABN) and 3,5-dimethyl-4-(N,N-dimethylamino)benzonitrile (TMABN), which exhibit the TICT state, and also for N-ethyl-5-cyanoindole (EIN) and N-ethylindoline-5-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (EICEE), which do not exhibit the TICT state, in a polar solvent, acetonitrile, as well as in a nonpolar solvent, n-hexane. The dipole moments of the TICT states of DMABN and TMABN were determined from the results of pressure effects and compared with each other.
