ON THE CALIBRATION OF LOW-ENERGY ION ACCELERATORS

摘要
The pulse height measured in a silicon detector for MeV 4He ions backscattered from a monoisotopic target, e.g. Au, has been compared to that from a radioactive 241Am source. Using previous results for the so-called "pulse height defect", including the effects of nonlinear detector response, we have determined the incident beam energy at ∼ 2.4 MeV with a precision of ∼ 3 keV. The data are in good agreement with a calibration performed using the 27Al(p, γ)28Si nuclear reaction resonance technique. © 1990.
