摘要
This study showed that water-aged triethanolamine titanate crosslinking solutions exist not as uniform solutions but as colloidal dispersions. Presumably, the crosslinking reaction between the polymer chains still occurs through an esterification reaction, but rather than the crosslinking site consisting of a single Ti molecule, the crosslinking occurs at the few remaining -Ti(OR) groups on the TiO//2 particle surface. This new understanding of the colloidal nature of these crosslinking systems suggests several new ways of controlling crosslinking kinetics by modifying the sizes of the colloidal crosslinker.
