摘要
1. 1. Twenty-eight phenolic acids have been isolated from horse urine and seventeen have been tentatively identified. 2. 2. All the acids occurred in both racehorses and ponies and, with the exception of 4-hydroxy-3-methoxymandelic acid, in a sample of donkey urine. 3. 3. 5-Hydroxyindoleacetic acid was not found in the urine. 4. 4. Quantitatively racehorse urine appears to be weaker as regards phenolic acids than pony urine. 5. 5. The pattern of phenolic acid excretion in foals is different from that of the adult horse. 6. 6. The phenolic acids in horse urine are stable for periods up to 21 days at -20°C at which temperature pH does not appear to be important. 7. 7. At room temperature the urine decomposes if the pH is higher than three. © 1969.
