FLUID INTAKES AND CHORDA TYMPANI NERVE RESPONSES IN VITAMIN-B-6 DEFICIENT RATS

摘要
Rats fed a vitamin B-6 deficient diet were shown to increase their presence for NaCl solutions using two-bottle preferences tests compared to rats pair-fed a control diet with vitamin B-6 supplementation or rats fed the same control diet ad lib. Integrated whole chorda tympani nerve responses to NaCl solutions showed no difference in thresholds among the three groups of rats. This finding suggests that the change in the preference for NaCl resulting from vitamin B-6 deficiency is probably not mediated via a gustatory neural mechanism. © 1979.
