TIME-DELAYED 4-WAVE MIXING WITH INCOHERENT-LIGHT - THE INHOMOGENEOUS LIMIT FOR A SYSTEM WITH MULTILEVEL STRUCTURE

摘要
The time-delayed four-wave mixing response of an inhomogeneously broadened optical multilevel system with a single ground state is calculated for a pair of correlated excitation fields interrogated by a relatively coherent probe field. The effects of spectral diffusion (the sudden jump model) are included. The longitudinal relaxation time of the excited multilevel system is taken to be short. These specialisations yield a simple response expressible in terms of elementary functions. © 1990 IOP Publishing Ltd.
