ON THE INTERGROWTH OF THE SILVER-OXIDES AG2O3 AND AG3O4

摘要
A new silver oxide has been detected by cyclic voltammetry and X-ray powder techniques. It is formed during the anodic oxidation of aqueous silver (I) electrolytes [c(Ag+) = 0.3 mol dm-3, c(F-) = 0.3 mol dm-3, c(ClO4-) = 1.4 mol dm-3, i = 50 mA cm-2]. The new phase is shown to be an intergrowth of Ag3O4 and Ag2O3 with the hypothetical composition range Ag(x)O(y); 3/4 > x/y > 2/3.
