摘要
SYNOPSIS. Rabbit antiserum can transform paramecia from one scrotype to a 2nd antigenic type. Altho homologous antisera made against antigens sharing the same specificity as that of a treated cell are most effective, other sera lacking crossreacting antibodies also can induce transformation. Furthermore, normal serum from unimmunized animals will often have the same effect. A 0‐40% ammonium sulfate fraction of serum removes a lethal factor, leaving behind an efficient agent for transformation. The activily of this agent will vary from rabbit to rabbit, and apparently is characteristic of a particular rabbit. Copyright © 1969, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
