摘要
This paper reviews the current situation regarding selection of parameters from metabolic, dosimetric and agricultural data needed to provide limits of contamination applicable in the vicinity of nuclear energy establishments. Such limits are required for use in assessments concerning controlled and accidental releases to atmosphere. Within the generalised term “limits”, the term “derived working limit” is applied to situations connected with controlled releases, and “emergency reference level” to accidental releases. Derivation of limits for 131I and 137Cs in diet, on pasture and in air is discussed values given for 131I are recommended for use in the United Kingdom by the U.K. Medical Research Council. © 1969 Health Physics Society.
