摘要：

A simple technique for evaluating the bit error probability of coherent M-ary PSK with any bit-mapping is proposed. This technique avoids numerical evaluation of complicated integrals in the direct method and uses instead closed-form expressions in terms of error functions. Bit error probability expressions for M-ary PSK with Gray, natural binary and folded binary bit-mappings are derived.
