摘要
A case study was conducted in the Ait M'hamed (Middle Atlas, Morocco) to document the effect of trailing to water on the temporal behavior and ingestion by herded sheep. When the sheep were watered every other day, it was found that on the watering days they grazed less, walked more and their dry matter intake was reduced. The sheep appeared to be able to compensate for this reduced ingestion by increasing the rate of biting and the length of grazing time on the non-watering days.
