摘要：

Both SU(3) and SU(2) x SU(2) symmetry breaking are discussed in the infinite momentum frame and in covariant frames. The former approach is model independent while the latter depends upon detailed dynamical models (such as QCD). The observed nucleon sigma term of 60 MeV can be understood in either formulation if there is little strange quark content in nucleons.
