摘要
We have studied the scintillation properties of LaF3 single crystals doped with Nd3+ by means of X-ray excitation. The Nd concentration ranged from 0.001 to 12 mol%. The luminescence caused by 4f-4f transitions in Nd3+ shows a maximum intensity at concentrations near 1 mol%. A 5d-4f transition yields an emission band at 173 nm with a decay time of about 6 ns. We have studied the intensity of this emission as a function of the Nd concentration. It appears that the intensity increases with the Nd concentration.
