摘要
The composition and structure of chromate conversion coating of aluminum and its alloys were investigated using IBA, XPS, AES, IR, X-ray diffraction and DTA. It was found that the major component of these coatings is CrOOH.nH2O and the composition of the major part of the coatings is independent of film thickness. The Cr(VI) exists only in the outer layer of the coatings. Electron and X-ray diffraction measurements show that these coatings are amorphous. XPS, IR and X-ray diffraction spectra indicate that crystalline Cr2O3 is formed when the films are heated.
