Crossed molecular beam measurement of the N-2+Ardifferential elastic cross section: Energy dependence of the rainbow scattering

摘要
Differential cross sections for the scattering of N-2 ( velocity selected beam) by Ar ( nozzle beam) were measured at different kinetic energies in the range E = 7.73 - 15.6 x 10(-14) erg. From the rainbow scattering the well depth epsilon = 1.63 +/- 0.15 x 10(-14) erg has been deduced for an assumed L.- J. (12.6) potential The scattering at low angles exhibited classical behaviour corresponding to a V proportional to r(-6) long-range potential.
