摘要
Structure formation in a polystyrene particle suspension film, under the action of an external alternating electrical field perpendicular to the film, is systematically studied in experiments; the interaction force between particles, induced by the electrical field, is analyzed. Based on the experimental results, a phenomenological theoretical interpretation is suggested. A preliminary quantitative comparison between the theory and experiments shows agreement. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
