摘要
It has been proposed that the gas-liquid volumetric mass transfer coefficient depends on the gas hold-up in gas-sparged, nonagitated equipment. Such a dependence would be expected, because both the volumetric mass transfer coefficient and gas holdup have similar forms of relationships with the superficial gas velocity in bubble columns. The article reviews previous work done on gas-liquid mass transfer in air lift fermentors and attempts to check the validity of the above proposal.
