摘要
The quantitative analysis of the morphology of dislocation-free {211} iron surfaces during electrochemical dissolution and measurements of distances and directions of monatomic steps provide information about the rates and potential dependences of three different elementary processes involving iron atoms bound to the lattice in three geometrically and energetically different states. The interaction of the three elementary processes explains the well-known anomalies of the kinetics of the iron electrode. A statistical analysis of the step distances is given. © 1979 Chapman and Hall Ltd.
