Excess molar enthalpies of (di-n-butyl ether + cyclohexane or benzene or toluene or ethyl benzene or m-xylene or p-xylene or mesitylene) have been determined at the temperature 303.15 K. All excess molar enthalpies except that of (di-n-butyl ether + mesitylene) are positive and decrease in the sequence benzene > cyclohexane > ethyl benzene > methyl benzene > p-xylene > m-xylene > mesitylene. The results have been compared with Abe and Flory's theory.(8) The agreement between theory and experiment is found to be good for all mixtures except for (di-n-butyl ether + mesitylene). © 1991 Academic Press Limited All rights reserved.
