NON-EQUILIBRIUM 1ST-ORDER TYPE PHASE-TRANSITION IN AN ELECTRON-VIBRATION SYSTEM

摘要
It is shown that under intens optical excitation of electronic transitions a large electron-vibration system may exist in one of two stable nonequilibeium states. This bistability provides in particular double-valued optical characteristics and their discontinuous change when the external parameters reach critical values. The effect shows a hysteresis character. The role of quantum fluctuations is discussed. © 1979.
